Anti-epileptic and anti-cancer activity of some indigenous plants.
Indian Journal of Physiology and Allied Sciences.. 1997 Apr.; 51(2): 53-6
ABSTRACT: Some indigenous plants were found to possess antiepileptic and anticancer activities. Methanolic extract of Moringa oleifera root showed antiepileptic property to the extent of 70 percent whereas petroleum ether extract of Mucuna pruriens and Vitex negundo showed 50 percent protection. Mathanolic extract of both M.pruriens root and Cassia fistula fruit were found to have antineoplastic activity (60 percent protection) in tumour bearing mice.
